Childhood Christmas Memories...

Do you remember
Christmas mornings
when you were a child?

Waking up to find these
things under your tree?

Chatty Cathy...

Betsy McCall...

and who could forget...

Betsy Wetsy?

You so wanted that
Cinderella watch...

that Cootie game...

and that metal
fold-up doll house!

Dad always got
upset when he stepped
on the jacks...

and Mom didn't want
you to bake one more cake!

So it was time to play
with your paper dolls...
especially the Lennon Sisters
paper dolls...

and play your new
record player!

Your dog would try
to eat your new Slinky...

and chew on the cover
of your new
Bobbsey Twins book!

So you would talk
Dad into playing
Tiddly Winks with you...

and talk Mom into
listening to your cool
new transistor radio!

And when Mom and Dad
went off to cook breakfast,
you would entertain yourself
with your new View Master!

Oh, those were the days!

What was your favorite find
under the Christmas tree?

BARBIE!!! Are you kidding me? 1961 bouffant blonde hair and I loved that doll to pieces...literally! Wasn't it always crumby (LOL) when you ran out of cake mix for the easy know it's a microwave now. Where's the fun in that? My Barbie dream house, car, Betsy McCall designer board, and a light up mirror when I was 13..even tho I wasn't allowed makeup.
Trying to sleep when all I wanted to do was go and look under the tree! Getting up and hitting that cold floor...running into the front room where Mother had left the Christmas tree lights on. It was magical!

I remember all those - and received many of them, and I'll add to the list my Tiny Tears doll! Oh, how I loved her - and Patty Play Pal (she was about 3 feel tall and was supposed to be the same height as a little kid!)

OMG, OMG! When I saw the Cinderella watch, I actually had tears in my eyes! I LOVED that watch and sobbed my heart out when it stopped working! Great post and great memories. Holiday hugs, Terri xoxo
